The Masters of Euphemisms

There is nothing more unintentionally funny than sports general managers describing their players in rosy terms.

Take Chris Mullin, the Golden State Warriors' VP of operations, who describes today's acquisition of Zarko Cabarkapa:
“We feel extremely fortunate to acquire a young and talented player who was a mid-first round draft pick a year ago,” said Mullin. “Zarko will provide our team with additional size, while his youth, ability to play multiple positions and potential are very intriguing. We think he has a bright future in this league.”
You'd think Mullin just picked up the next LeBron James.

There's just one problem. Zarko averaged 4.1 points and 2.0 rebounds last year. The Warriors acquired him simply by trading two second round picks.

Seriously, these guys would say Siberia is El Dorado. I love this game.

What an intriguing, versatile talent.
